“Lychee is a thoughtful, bubbly raveworld fixture. A colorful and perpetually exploratory DJ and event organizer, they manifest underground energy with a magical, scintillating take on technoid psychedelia and relentless, meaningful inquiry. A voracious reader and writer, they ever-thoughtfully explore human experience and interconnectedness through words, soundwaves, and the expansive, wobbling pulse of the dancefloor.” -words by Furtive
In addition to holding down regular appearances at Basement, Nowadays, and Bossa Nova Civic Club, Lychee is part of the Antidote and Meridian event collectives and a staff member at Nowadays and The Bunker NY. They ran Spontaneous Affinity, a monthly mix and interview series and occasional event platform focused on how dancefloors have shaped artists, co-created the label Unimatrix Zero, and were on the board for the Aslice Foundation.
Lychee got their start as a radio DJ for WMFO, Tufts' college radio station, in 2007. Since starting to play out in 2012, they have played festivals like Sustain-Release, Honcho Campout, The Great Beyond, and Osmosis in the Trees, and have played alongside artists like Takaaki Itoh, Objekt, Rrose, Carlos Souffront, Claude Young, and Sterac. In addition to playing out, Lychee has organized skillshare events, taught DJ workshops, and curated a speaker event about inclusivity in music technology.
